Heavy Equipment Instructor Position

 The Operating Engineers College is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Instructor to teach the Heavy Equipment Operator Program at its Holyrood campus.

 Qualifications

                                  Minimum six years’ operating experience.  Experience on an excavator, dozer and tandem truck would be an asset.

                                  Journeyperson Certificate/s

                                  Class 03 License

Attention JP and Apprentice Crane Operators - Tower Crane Training

Are you a JP Mobile Crane Operator or a 3rd year Apprentice Crane Operator with a minimum of 3000 crane hours.  Would you be interested in completing a Tower Crane course at the Operating Engineers College? For more information call the OE College  (709)229-6464.

 

Safety Training Courses  

Safety Courses - some positions require people to have at least WHMIS and Power Line Hazards as a minimum, however, other safety courses may be required depending on the job position.  Our recommendation is that members complete all the courses, so they are prepared and do not risk losing a job.

NOTE:  All Safety Courses expire after 3 years, even if there is no expiry date on your current card.

 

Zoom Boom Assessment

The Operating Engineers College offers a Zoom Boom Assessment. This assessment is for operators who have no formal certification but have 1 or more years of operating experience and knowledge of the Zoom Boom load charts.
A letter from an employer will be required to verify your Zoom Boom experience
. (Letter must be on an official company letterhead)

This is not a course for individuals with no previous experience in the operation of Zoom Booms.

The assessment will take 2 days to complete:
Day 1: Load chart assessment. Individuals who do not pass the load chart assessment will not be permitted to complete the practical assessment.
Day 2: Practical assessment.

Shop Steward and Supervisor Training - The O.E. College offers Shop Steward and Supervisor Training.

GPS Dozer and GPS Excavator - The O.E. College offers training on the GPS Dozer and GPS Excavator.
